iHurt Lite and other fun stuff

It seems our obsession with Twitter (MMMGames) has caused our blog to sit idle. Here is a quick update for you:

We just released a Lite version of iHurt! Now you can join in on the HURT with no risk (to your pocket book at least!) Grab it now and if you like it, visit the in-app store to buy some additional characters and levels. Or, if you would like to keep getting free content updates, buy the Full version of iHurt. Either way is a great deal for a great game!

For those who are looking for a fun toy for their iPad, check out SpiritPad: The Oracle. Make contact with your long-lost relatives and find out where they buried their fortunes, or just have some fun with your friends at your next slumber party.

Don't forget DragonEye for the iPhone or DragonEye HD for iPad. Test your memory and keep the evil dragon at bay. Make a wrong move and feel it's wrath!

We are also hard at work on updates for our games (look for iHurt and DragonEye updates soon!), as well as new games to keep you glued to your favorite iDevice.

Keep checking back for more updates and be sure to visit our web site at www.madmonkeymilitia.com

The First Step

"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.” JRR Tolkien

Mad Monkey is proud to announce that we have submitted our 1st game, iHurt, to Apple for review. Barring any unforeseen problems we hope that in 7-14 days we will see our game up in the app store. It is a culmination of hard work by 3 talented individuals and I am proud to count myself as one of the 3.
It is hard to believe that 7 months ago we started our journey. Two former co workers trying once again to forge out and create something we could call our own. What started as a whim of let's do something in our spare time, very soon became a necessity for me. I am the artist of the company and in many ways the original vision of the company was mine. I wish I could take credit for everything but Randy is always very good about helping to channel my ramblings with his own ideas and enthusiasm. We tossed many ideas back and forth and even did a demo for a tongue and cheek game based on the U.S. Government Bailout. It was a good learning experience. We even managed to create a prototype. The best thing we learned was that we needed a coder.
Truley the universe was smiling on us as Randy brought on an old cohort, Chris Stoy.
Chris fit in right away and charged forward. I am vary wary of sharing my dreams with others and I expect to be called a fool. Chris shared much of our vision, enthusiasm, and backed it up with hard work and dedication. It was settled, Chris was the 3rd in our core group. I still am not sure whether Chris will make the eventually journey to Ventura. But I hope he does. :)
We now wait anxiously for our game to be approved. We are not resting and we are already working on our 1st update. I want to thank my two partners in helping to create iHurt, for sharing in this dream called Mad Monkey Militia, and working so hard to fulfill it. We are ready to take the stage and play our 1st gig and we hope you take time to check out our show. -Jude

HEY HO LET'S GO!!

In the early 1970's Rock and Roll had become a bloated commercial giant. Bands were judged solely on the technical prowess and skill. Bloated ego driven double albums and LIVE albums were taking over the record store shelves and radio airwaves. But in places like Detroit and New York a movement was beginning. A movement that embraced Do-it-yourself ethic. A revolution that said we like our music fast, hard, and loud. This was Punk Rock.
Mad Monkey Militia believes it is time for another revolution. We are a company that remembers fast fun games. Games that are easy to pick up and hard to put down. The games industry much like the music industry of the early 70's has become a bloated commercial giant. Games judged solely on their grandiose levels of detail and movie like production values. The revolution has already begun. Like the bars and small club venues of Detroit and New York, the iphone and itouch app store has made it possible for small groups of developers to get together and create the games they enjoy. With a rousing shout of "1,2,3....4!!!!" We at Mad Monkey Militia have come to play.
